Dear Friends,
I am sure that all of you are aware of the harsh criticism leveled against Israel in recent days. I also have no doubt that we would never be in such a situation were it not for the relentless shelling that Israel has come under for the past several years from Gaza; rockets sent over by the extremist Islamic movements, headed by Hamas. Israel wants to put an end to these attacks and is doing so via the blockade on Gaza, which has put a stop to the transfer of military equipment and weaponry to the Gaza Strip. At the same time, Israel is supplying Gaza with food and humanitarian aid and is also allowing other organizations to enter Gaza with such aid, after careful inspection. Israel also made this very same offer to the organizers of the ill-fated Flotilla, but they turned it down, preferring to try and sail directly into Gaza. At a difficult time such as this, we would like to thank our wonderful volunteers who keep on coming to serve with us at Sar-El. Your efforts over the years and especially during periods of conflict lend us great support and we are grateful for your show of solidarity with the nation of Israel, which goes far beyond the help you give us while on our bases. You boost our morale and your show of support helps us maintain our desire to live peacefully in our own country. All of us at Sar-El salute the Israel Defense Force for its excellent work in protecting us and securing our right to exist in Israel. With thanks,
Israel Geva Executive General Manager
